Programs That Change Lives

Each program at God Made Dogs is designed to give senior dogs the care, love, and advocacy they deserve.

Senior Dog Rescue Program
Core Program

Senior Dog Rescue

Our rescue program pulls senior dogs aged 7+ from high-kill shelters, emergency situations, and owner surrenders across Colorado. Each dog receives an immediate veterinary evaluation, emergency treatment if needed, and placement into our foster network within 48 hours of intake.

Our network of 50+ foster families provides temporary, loving homes for rescue dogs as they recover and prepare for adoption. Foster families receive all supplies, veterinary coverage, and 24/7 support from our team. Fostering is the heart of what makes our rescue work.

Adoption

Forever Home Adoptions

Our adoption process is thoughtful and personalized. We conduct home visits, lifestyle assessments, and meet-and-greets to ensure the best match between dog and family. Adoption fees cover spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and a starter kit of supplies.

Outreach

Community Outreach & Education

We visit schools, community centers, and senior living facilities to educate people about the joys of senior dog adoption. Our therapy dog visits bring smiles and comfort to nursing homes and hospitals, while our school programs teach kids about compassion and responsible pet ownership.

Senior Dog Wellness Fund
Medical

Senior Dog Wellness Fund

Many of our dogs require ongoing medical care — from arthritis management to dental work to chronic condition treatment. Our wellness fund ensures no dog is ever turned away because of the cost of care. Donors can sponsor a specific dog's medical needs or contribute to the general fund.

Hospice Foster Care

For some senior dogs, finding a forever home isn't possible due to terminal illness or advanced age. Our hospice foster program matches these special dogs with compassionate families who provide comfort, dignity, and love in their final days and weeks.

Hospice foster families receive complete veterinary support, all necessary medications and supplies, and around-the-clock guidance from our team. It's one of the most meaningful ways to make a difference — giving a dog the gift of dying surrounded by love instead of alone in a shelter.
